Mission and Goals
The Copenhagen Consensus is based on a simple, yet too-often overlooked premise: In a world of limited resources, how can we confront the most pressing issues and solve them most effectively? With limited financial resources and public attention: where should we direct funds first, in order to do the most good within a given issue?
Our mission is to provide cutting-edge, relevant economic research and cost-benefit analysis to guide international development and do the most good for the most people. We want to ensure the best ideas receive more attention and poor ideas are discouraged.
People are encouraged to take a stand based on evidence presented through media co-operations for the interested public, and seminars for decision-makers provide a great platform to generate a public debate on priorities based on facts and merits.
The Copenhagen Consensus is our ongoing flagship project. We convene our conference every four years to review new research and rank priorities. However, we also do subject- or place-specific projects such as Rethink HIV (2012) or the Copenhagen Consensus on Latin America (2007).
