Project opportunity
We are now accepting applications for our open project opportunity to join us in our Budapest office. The position involves work on the following two programs:
Post 2015 Consensus
This project has commissioned the world’s top economists to research the costs and benefits of the proposed goals that will replace the Millennium Development Goals in 2015 – an area thus far missing in the post-2015 agenda debates. The research will cover 19 distinct topic areas, including long-standing development concerns such as health, poverty, education, and environment, but also prominent post-2015 issues such as data and technology. The project has engaged in major outreach, involving experts from the UN, NGO and private sectors, as well as Nobel Laureates, who will assess the research results. All of this information will be taken to top decision makers in the UN and to the general public, throughout 2014 and 2015. Here are some examples of task the intern would be involved in:
- Identifying major regional media outlets and contacts (in Africa, Middle East, Asia and Latin America) to publish articles and new research results.
- Research and writing assistance to ensure above-mentioned articles are of a high publication quality, including accuracy of economic information.
- Assistance in development of materials (policy briefs; summaries for decision makers) for high-level officials in the UN and government agencies.
CCC Online
Our overall mission is to make rational arguments and data from economic research available to everyone who can benefit from it: policy makers, researchers, students, journalists and interested public. Therefore we have an ongoing outreach program mainly focused on printed media, but increasingly focused on online opportunities like: Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google Adwords, Google search, Youtube etc. For the right person, we have the opportunity to create a more permanent position for web and online outreach. Here are some examples of tasks the intern would be involved in:
- Developing and optimizing search word campaigns
- Designing and maintaining web pages and project sites (texts and images)
- Research new opportunities for reaching out with CCC’s message online and help make them work both on a technical basis and in terms of tailoring the message.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Native English speaking (or equivalent) skills.
- Strong research and writing skills, with the ability to write in a clear style for different audiences.
- Excellent understanding/background of and interest in economics.
- Interest in and aptitude for learning the more technical side of different web and mobile channels as an advanced user (not developer)
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple commitments.
- Interpersonal and intercultural skills, to communicate with a wide range of people at the international level.
- Strong work and team ethic.
Deadline
The deadline for the application is Wednesday June 18th at midnight, Budapest time
