New research examines policies for enhancing export trading opportunities from Rajasthan. Rajasthan is India’s largest state in land area and is a leading producer of agricultural commodities. Its ambition is to increase its share of national exports from the present day 2% to much higher levels. To do this it needs to address the challenges of a hinterland state, with inadequate infrastructure to transport export goods to seaports.
India is transforming, thanks to its strong performance selling products and services around the globe. But what interventions, at a State level, can do the most to ensure Indian exports are globally competitive? Research by Amitendu Palit, Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore, provides answers."
