Top Ideas for Environment and Biodiversity

In May of 2015, Bangladesh Priorities held a roundtable of sector experts to discuss the best solutions for improving Bangladesh’s environment and biodiversity. Combined with in-depth interviews and review of the 26 background studies of the 7th Five Year Plan (7FYP) and the Plan itself, the most notable ideas focused on cleaning Buriganga river, relocate tanneries away from rivers, natural resource management through community led initiatives, provision of colored recycling bins to population for self-managed sorting of recyclables, and investing in waste management, modern cooking appliances and soil fertility research.
