Youth Forum: University of Barisal
On January 16 2017, a Bangladesh Priorities Youth Forum was at held University of Barisal. Fifty two students from different departments of Barishal University participated in the forum. Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. S.M. Imamul Huq, Tasnuva Habib, chairman, department of public administration and Rashed musharr, lecturer, department of public administration attended the forum as special guests.
After a lively debate and fruitful discussion regarding the ranking of top priorities for Bangladesh, 16 students ranked “group and teach according to ability” as their top priority. The students selected the intervention because education is the backbone of everything and without an education, no one can contribute to the development of a country. One student commented that
an educated man is the solder of a good nation so without education development is impossible.”
In addition, “boost agricultural productivity” was ranked as a top priority for another 10 students. To quote one of them
if the development happens in climate oriented agriculture, youth can be influenced towards agriculture.”
Together, the students ranked the following interventions as their top 5 priorities for Bangladesh.
