Rural Forum: Chandana Village
On July 21 2016, a rural forum was held at Chunarughat Government College to enable rural citizens living in the Chandana village to present their views on the development priorities for Bangladesh.
A total of 24 participants from a variety of professions in the area were present, including 13 teachers (College), 1 teacher (High School), 1 teacher (Religious School), 1 Teacher (Kindergarten), 3 businesspersons, 2 private sector employees, 1 Journalist and 2 NGO workers.
There was a lively debate and rich discussion regarding the top development priorities for Bangladesh. A majority of participants ranked “Boost Agricultural Productivity” as number one priority, focusing on Bangladesh’s overwhelming dependency on agricultural production and economy based on it.
Together, the rural forum participants ranked the following as the top 5 highest priority solutions for Bangladesh.
